For sale is a Professionally Framed, High Resolution Gallery Print entitled, 'Two Ships at Anchor', after the original Oil-On-Canvas Painting by Flemish painter, Andries van Eertvelt (1590-1652).
Fully framed, this exceptional, crisp and clear, quality reproduction fine art print measures 36.25" wide x 26.25" high. The sight proper measures 27.25" wide x 17.25" high.
The harbor scene evokes a calm and peaceful mood, with subtle earthy colours, sails and flags at rest, a subtle veil of salty mist, and beautiful, billowing summertime clouds.
The excellent condition, solid wood frame bears a simple flat black finish. The double matting is in impeccably tidy, 'ship' shape, and the print proper is immaculate. The piece is set under glare-free glass, which allows clear viewing from all angles in most lighting situations. The secure backing is clean and neat, with well-affixed mounting hardware.
The original oil-on-canvas (transferred from panel) painting, measuring 64 x 98 cm, is currently housed at the Hermitage, St. Petersburg.
About the original artist:
Andries van Eertvelt was a Baroque period painter, draughtsman and engraver who was one of the first Flemish artists to specialize in marine art. Several of his pupils also became prominent marine artists. Antwerp, Belgium
