For sale is a lovely Vintage Original Oil-On-Canvas Rural Winter Landscape Painting by 'Pantigg'.
Measuring 24.25" high x 28.5" wide fully framed, the painting presents in fine condition with the canvas being taut and tidy with only some very slight, age-earned craquelure. The pleasant colours are vivid and strong.
Lots of seasonal pastels accentuate the wintry sky and blanket of snow, giving a comforting peacefulness to the scene, while deep, earthy tones are skillfully used to give depth and a realistic feel to the distant woods and foreground features.
The artist has signed the bottom right front corner of the piece, but it is hard to clearly discern the name which may possibly read 'A(?) Pantigg/(date)'. The neatly carved wooden frame is nicely decorated with mid-century gold highlights on creamy white, indicative of the era.
This calming landscape would be a nice, warming painting at the cottage, in the den, or the room of one who appreciates how wonderful winter can be!
