Robert Bateman's Midnight - Black Wolf

In this painting the artist wanted to show the ominous presence of a mature, lone wolf. He wanted to create a mood of seriousness and respect - not threat. From the artistic point of view, he was intrigued by the challenge of portraying a black animal on an almost black background.

The original painting was created in 1989. It was reproduced as a canvas giclee in 2003. The canvas size is 30" x 40". It is 400/550 editions.

I have had the canvas stored in its original wrappings in my spare room since I purchased it in 2010. It has never been on a wall or seen daylight. Its purchase price was $4995.00 and I am selling it now at a huge reduction because I am moving and I want to sell it quickly. I will accept cash or etransfer for the sale.
