Description
2018 VW Golf GTI Autobahn (6-Speed Manual) – $10,000 (Needs Transmission) 159,000 km | White | Loaded | Top Trim | Clean Title
Selling my 2018 VW Golf GTI Autobahn (6-speed manual) for $10,000 AS-IS. Car starts and the engine runs beautifully — but the transmission is blown, so it doesn’t drive. Great project car with premium upgrades and high resale potential.
What Happened: One of the axle strap bolts came loose, causing the strap to crack the transmission case. Fluid leaked out, gears are now damaged. Needs new/rebuilt transmission. Clutch may need to be replaced as well depending on what trans you install.
Repair Quote (from shop in Newmarket): Labor: ~$1,200 Parts: $3,500–$5,000 (OEM or aftermarket)
Upgrades: DKM Stage 2 Performance Clutch Aftermarket Cold Air Intake Aftermarket Exhaust (clean sound, not loud nor aggressive) Extras: Original Exhaust and Air Intake Included. Extra Set of Rims, with winters on Included.
Autobahn Trim (Top of the Line for 2018): Leather heated seats Sunroof Digital cockpit Fender premium audio Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Navigation Blind spot monitoring Lane assist Adaptive cruise control Ambient lighting Performance brakes & suspension
Engine & interior meticulously maintained Exterior in great shape No engine issues Only ever synthetic oil changes. approx. 70,000km (50%) driven on premium gas.
Car was worth ~$19–22K before the transmission went
Ideal For: GTI fans looking for a project Mechanics or techs with parts access Performance enthusiasts Anyone looking to build equity on a car purchase – fix it up and drive a $20K+ car for half the price
I’ve owned this car since October 2022 and kept it in great shape. I have a truck too so I’m just letting the GTI go.
