I am looking for a working laptop (even without a hard drive – I can run Linux from a USB stick). A scanner or an older digital DSLR camera in working condition would also be very helpful. The device does not need to be new, only able to power on and function.
I recently arrived in Vancouver from another province. At the moment, I am representing myself in a legal process and urgently need basic tools to continue working with documents, evidence, and to finish writing my book. I came with almost no belongings, only a box of papers. I do not yet have a work permit, and my health is not the best. I can show documents in person to confirm everything I have said.
If you were planning to recycle or throw away an older laptop, scanner, or camera, please consider giving it instead. For you it may be unused equipment, but for me it could make a life-changing difference.
In the future, if someone else is in a similar situation, I will gladly pass these items on to those in need.
