Description

For your consideration. 16.2, 2017 Thoroughbred gelding. Winter aka. Mr. Ice maker. About winter: He has a goofy personality but also a great work ethic. He came off the track as a fresh 3 year old. I’ve brought him up since then. He has three big beautiful gates, w/t/c. And a nice smooth downward transition. He can walk to canter when asked. He stand well for farrier. He loads and trailers like a pro. I think he would excel in any direction but my focus was jumping so that is what he has most experience in! He’s been trained in a jumper/ Eventing atmosphere. Great dressage potential. Can free jump over the height of the standard at my barn, with scope to go higher. Has jumped 2’9 courses with the right rider. If you’re looking for your next companion to take you further in jumping this is your guy!! He has potential to ride 1.10 (or higher) Jumper courses with experience . He has jumped Cross country many times, we’ve been going out since he was 4. And he absolutely loves it! You can take him out for a hack with buddy’s. Front of the pack or back. He usually likes to sit in the middle. I’ve taken him out alone quite a bit last season. As any good thoroughbred rider know, they can have opinions. He can pull shapes, but it’s usually for a reason. Quiet hands, and quiet aids are a must for this sensitive guy. He needs a strong leader who isn’t afraid to set boundaries. He’s very brave, once you have his trust he’ll lock into anything you point him at. Some additional information you should be aware of. Hes a cribber. He’s a bit of a hard keeper so some maintenance is require. I’ve had him shoed for most of the time I’ve owned him as I found he had a bit of a sensitive foot. But he’s been barefoot for 6 months with no issue. Please pm if you have any questions!
