BBS Canadian Breese day-old chicks

Here at Peaceful Haven Homestead we are starting up the incubator. We have sorted our BBS Canadian Breese birds and add our roosters to our breeding pens. We are taking orders and adding those orders to our wait list. This French Heritage birds which originated 500 years ago are a dual-purpose chicken for meat and eggs. They are the same as the Poulet de Breese but due to importing restrictions they are called Canadian Breese. The Breese come in the standard White which is the most popular color but they also come in BBS (blue, black and splash) being less recognized. We carry both the White and the BBS colored lines. The Canadian Breese is considered the Queen of chickens and are one of the best tasting chickens due to the meat to bone ratio. The hens start to lay large size cream to white colored eggs around 5 months of age. They will lay 5 to 6 eggs per week which is 250 plus eggs per year. Due to being a heritage breed they are slow growers and can be butchered at 16-18 weeks of age. Hens dressed out weight is 5-6 lbs. and roosters at 7-8 lbs. We do not sell hatching eggs or ship chicks. We do not have any Hens or Roosters for sale at this time We also sell Silver Appleyard and Pekin ducklings as well as Shetland Sheep lambs in the spring.
