Location: Crowsnest Pass, AB (Hybrid – Local in-person + Remote flexibility)
Job Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor (Approx. 10 hours/week with potential for more)
Compensation: 1. $20/hour to start 2. Increases to $25/hour after 3 months 3. $15/week coffee stipend to support local cafés (Ophelia, Kindred Ground, Stone’s Throw) 4. Your bi-weekly invoices paid within 48 hours (you are a independent contractor)
Job Summary We are a small, entrepreneurial team managing two growing businesses: 1. Brick & Timber - Boutique short-term rental properties in Coleman and Beaver Mines 2. Ember & Ice, a mobile wood-fired sauna and cold plunge company We’re looking for a friendly, organized, and proactive person based in or near Crowsnest Pass to manage light on-the-ground operations at our lodging properties and assist with social media and digital content for Ember & Ice. This is a flexible, hybrid role that rewards attention to detail, initiative, and a desire to make guests feel truly cared for.
Key Responsibilities Short-Term Rental Operations (~5 hrs/week) 1. Perform weekly in-person visits to properties in Coleman (and occasional trips to Beaver Mines) 2. Light tasks like moving garbage bins, resetting furniture, checking supplies, and reporting issues 3. Coordinate with cleaners, maintenance, and vendors for ad hoc requests (we have automated cleaning software that pre-schedules all cleans with our cleaners) 4. Respond to ad hoc guest inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner (we have automated messages that answer most questions ahead of time) 5. Maintain and update guest guides and website content 6. Assist with simple bookkeeping or receipts (QuickBooks) 7. Know and work with our trusted local partners (cleaners, maintenance, home checker, hot tub, plumbing, electrical, etc) to solve problems together
Social Media & Brand Support (~5 hrs/week) 1. Plan, schedule, and post Instagram content for Ember & Ice as well as Brick & Timber (or social media presence is LACKING) 2. Write engaging captions and respond to DMs or comments 3. Upload content to website and help maintain brand consistency 4. Support promotions, giveaways, and creative campaigns 5. Share ideas to improve the guest experience and brand presence
Who We’re Looking For 1. Lives in or near the Crowsnest Pass and can do weekly property visits 2. Loves helping people and takes pride in solving problems before they arise 3. Friendly, responsive, and proactive – you enjoy making someone’s day better 4. Highly organized with excellent communication skills 5. Self-directed and able to work independently with flexible hours 6. Comfortable using or learning tools like: Instagram, Canva, QuickBooks, Google Drive, Airbnb, and website editors 7. Growth-minded and excited by the idea of taking on more over time
