Certified Forklift Operator

Job Title: Advanced Warehouse Operator Duration: 3 months (This is a 3-month trial assignment with a strong possibility of extension as long as it's going well.) Location: On-Site | Ottawa, ON K1G 3W5

Description: Work in a warehouse, under some supervision, to receive, store, and ship goods by following clear procedures with high standards. Check for damage or errors in shipments, keep things organized, and operate equipment like forklifts. Provide customer service such as assisting with inquiries, returns or order pick-ups.

Main Duties: • Receive and inspect incoming goods for damage or errors. • Sort, label, and store products to make the best use of space. • Pick and pack orders for shipment and/or customer pick-ups. • Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery (certification required). • Follow safety rules and report any issues or hazards. • Keep your work area clean and organized.

Requirements: • Certified forklift operator. • Safety-conscious and physically fit. • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written). • Positive attitude, team player, and able to work independently. • Organized, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines. • Uses common sense in daily tasks.

Responsibilities by Category Health, Safety & Environment: • Stop work and report any serious safety risks. • Follow all safety rules and wear protective gear (PPE). • Help create a safe workplace and minimize environmental impact. • Take part in safety training.

Quality: • Follow procedures and quality standards. • Report issues to avoid mistakes or extra costs. • Check shipments for damage or mismatched items. • Identify and separate items that don’t meet standards.

Delivery: • Accurately handle and organize incoming and outgoing goods. • Use manual or automated tools to pick and ship products safely, quickly and correctly. • Work at the expected speed and quality level.

Teamwork: • Communicate well with teammates and support staff. • Stay flexible and help where needed. • Join efforts to improve safety, quality, and processes. • Keep equipment and work areas clean and well-maintained. • Assist with identifying and fixing equipment issues.
