1975 Triple E SurfSide Camper

1975 Triple E SurfSide TM-14. After many camping trips and adventures, we’ve decided that its someone else’s turn to enjoy this wonderful little gem. Bought new in ’75 at Glenwood Trailer Sales in Saskatoon, this 14 foot fiberglass has been in the Saskatoon area its whole life and has been lovingly maintained. The original owner’s manual along with other paperwork come with the camper. Previous owners separated the frame from the body and made necessary repairs to the frame, adding reinforcement to areas that can typically fail. There have also been upgrades along the way including a newer 3-way fridge (added early 2000’s) in the space of the original. Conveniently the fridge is located at waist height, so there’s no bending over or sitting on the floor to dig things out. It works perfectly on 12 volt, 120 volt and propane. The Surfside has its original stainless steel 2 –burner stove, a stainless sink, and it’s original propane furnace. Everything is in perfect working order. The wiring in the camper was overhauled 2 years ago and it comes with a new AGM Deep Cycle marine battery with built in charger. In 2017 all of the windows were removed from the camper and re-sealed to prevent any possible leaks. New butyl tape keeps things nice and dry. In 2018 we renovated the interior of the camper. All of the cupboards and “elephant skin” on the walls were painted in high quality white, the flooring was replaced with new vinyl and the counter top was replaced with a matching butcher block. Cupboard doors got new hardware along with nautical pulls. At that time a back splash was added, and the front bench was re-upholstered. Double layered black out curtains were sewn and installed and the nautical theme came together with all of the accessories and décor that you see. That same year this camper took the People's Choice award at the "Bolerama - Prairie Egg Gathering", a camping weekend where people who own vintage fiberglass trailers camp together. There are USB charging ports next to the bed and both 12 Volt LED lighting as well as 120 volt lighting throughout the camper. In 2020 two new tires were installed and they probably have about 3000 kms on them since. They’ve always been stored with covers on them, so there’s no weather checking. In 2023 the wheel bearings were replaced with new ones, and greased properly. There are apox 1000 kms on them. A second set comes with the camper. The Surfside sleeps 3 people, and weighs 1600 lbs fully loaded, meaning just about any mid size SUV can pull it. Examples would be: Toyota Rav-4, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V or a Chevrolet Equinox to name a few. This camper is not equipped with a bathroom, but there is space underneath the front bench to stow a porta-potty with easy access through a large cupboard door. The Surfside offers a few key benefits over a Boler of the same era. It’s one foot longer, and that extra foot was added in the rear, making the sleeping space much more accommodating for two grown adults. It’s also taller, meaning that anyone around 5’10” will have no problem. The floor features fiberglass encased ¾” plywood, which makes for a stronger base, but also will never rot. The door frame is also reinforced by design compared to a Boler. New marine stainless hinges were added. Aside from some minor checking in the exterior fiberglass shell, the camper is in excellent condition for it’s age. The Surfside is also an expert at camping off grid. The propane furnace requires no electricity to function, the fridge runs off propane, and the water pump and lights will run off of the 12 volt battery easily for days. Especially when supplemented with charging from the solar panel that’s included.
